ABOUT THE COUPLE
How they met: Dan and Michele knew each other for most of their lives, but it wasn’t until his sister and her brother conjured up a plan to put them in contact with one another that they became a couple.
How he proposed: Dan proposed at his family's lake home in Wautoma, on the water's edge as the sun was setting.

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony: Michele was the fourth generation of her family to be married at Friedens Lutheran. The ceremony was enriched by the presence of over 200 family members and friends.
The gown: Michele walked down the aisle in a satin A-line silhouette gown with a strapless, flared pleated neckline. The bodice was hand beaded with Swarovski crystals and precious stone detail. Her gown had a side rouched bodice and a semi-cathedral train accented by a finger tip length veil.
The bouquet: Michele carried a 10-inch round hand-tied bouquet with delicate dimension featuring coral, ivory and hot pink long stem roses; accents of bright green hydrangea; and mini cynbidium orchids with greenery accents. The stems were wrapped in white satin ribbon to match her dress.

THE RECEPTION

The reception: Veterans Terrace at Echo Park in Burlington, Wis.
The cake: A variety of yellow, marble, and raspberry custard-filled cake. The cake was decorated with roses and orchids to coordinate with the bridal bouquets.
First song: As chosen by the groom, the couple danced to “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban.
The menu: Dinner began with a garden and herb salad, followed by a duet plate of grilled butter-garlic boneless skinless chicken breast and beef tenderloin tips with gravy accompanied by country-whipped mashed potatoes and oven-roasted vegetables.
What made the day unique: The day began with a thunderstorm and a power outage, but by the time the limo pulled up the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous summer day.
Most touching moment of the day: Families of the bride and groom prepared a surprise slideshow that was played during the reception. It included photos of Dan and Michele, sharing their lives and their love story with all in attendance.
Honeymoon destination: Dan and Michele spent a week in St. Lucia, where they enjoyed deep-sea fishing, ziplining and relaxing in the sunshine.
