How they met: The couple was introduced by the bride's best friend in May 2006. After a spontaneous trip to Wisconsin Dells, just weeks after meeting, the couple knew they were meant for each other.
How he proposed: Aaron proposed in San Diego, where the couple was visiting to watch the Chicago Cubs play, on his 30th birthday. He surprised Katie by arranging to have her mom show up in San Diego, just in time for the proposal.

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony: The 1 p.m. ceremony took place at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster. The cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows provided a beautiful backdrop.
The gown: The bride wore an ivory Anjolique gown of godavari silk. The mermaid style dress included a cathedral-length veil.
The bouquet: A hand-tied bouquet of green hydrangea, ivory and green Eskimo roses, and cymbidium orchids. A blue sapphire ring that belonged to the bride's great-grandmother was tied into the ivory silk of the bouquet and served as the bride's "something old, borrowed and blue."

The cake: Friends of the bride and groom from Oliver's Bakery provided the three-tiered butter-cream wedding cake with a cascade of cymbidium orchids.
First song: "You Mean Everything to Me" by Shawn Mullins
The menu: A selection of five hors d'oeuvres were served during the outdoor cocktail hour. Dinner was a duet of filet and chicken, served with fresh vegetables and whipped duchess potatoes.
What made the day unique: A steel drum musician performed at the outdoor cocktail hour, which took place on Delavan Lake, just outside of Lake Lawn Resort. The music set the tone for the rest of the reception and was a great start to the night.
Most touching moment of the day: Looking each other in the eyes and reciting their vows before friends and family.
Honeymoon destination: An October trip to the Royal Hideaway Playacar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
